With the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (D365FO), DFDS is embarking on a digital transformation journey across Finance. Replacing all current ERP solutions with D365FO across more than 30 markets and 70 entities is a paramount aspect of our ambition towards becoming a greener and more digitized operator.
To achieve our goals for the coming years, we are extending our team with an experienced Solution Architect to join the Atlas Programme, our ERP transformation Programme in DFDS. The Solution Architect will lead the design and implementation of scalable, robust, and effective solutions, particularly in the integrations area, ensuring alignment with operational business processes and organizational goals.
About the role

The Atlas Programme consists of 8 workstreams working in a multinational, inclusive and diverse team. We have highly skilled and driven members across different countries such as: Denmark, Poland and Türkiye. You will be located at our headquarters in Copenhagen, Denmark, where you will be a part of the D365 Integrations Workstream within the Atlas Programme. As an experienced Solution Architect, you will be joining a team of skilled Architects, Business Analysts and Developers, where you will be playing a pivotal role in designing and delivering cutting-edge solutions using the latest Microsoft technology.
Main responsibilities
In this role, your focus will be on supporting the implementation teams across the Atlas Programme by designing and advising on integrations, solutions, and processes within our D365FO ERP platform and its interaction with surrounding systems. You will play a key role in ensuring that the future DFDS ERP target architecture is achieved, a critical component of our global digitalization strategy.
We expect you to:
- Lead the design of integration solutions between D365FO and line of business systems
- Guide and support technical teams in implementing integrations, ensuring that solutions are robust, scalable, and maintainable across different systems
- Act as a technical advisor, providing guidance to internal and overseas development teams on integration patterns within the D365FO ecosystem to ensure alignment with the overall ERP strategy and target system architecture
- Provide input and guidance to improvement project teams, ensuring that proposed solutions align with the D365FO architecture and contribute to enhancing system efficiency and performance
- Work closely with other architects within the Atlas Programme or T&I (our Technology & Innovation division) to ensure standards are kept
Key skills and experience
You have experience designing and delivering both small and large, complex solutions involving multiple stakeholders across both functional and technical areas. As a strategic and structured problem solver, you're driven by ambition and a desire to challenge conventional approaches, while ensuring your efforts and architectural decisions align with the overall target architecture and maintain consistency across the system.
You are an organized planner and manage your time effectively while guiding teams based on critical architectural priorities. Additionally, you're a skilled communicator with proven experience engaging stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
Professionally, you have:
- 5+ years of experience working as a Solution Architect, Integration Architect, Technical Architect, Integration or Development Lead within the area of ERP implementations. Microsoft D365FO is preferred but not a prerequisite
- Proven track record in designing and implementing ERP integrations
- Experience in developing and communicating As-is, Transitional, and Target ERP architectures to a variety of stakeholders
- Deep understanding of best practices within the integration space
- Experience working in agile environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams across multiple locations
- Expertise in coaching and guiding technical teams, supporting ERP projects
- Skilled in creating design documentation, effectively illustrating and defending chosen architectural approaches
- Ability to lead structured and constructive reviews with stakeholders, driving alignment on solution architecture
- Proven experience in complex problem-solving, delivering insights, and providing recommendations to key decision-makers
- Familiarity with collaboration tools such as Azure DevOps or similar platforms
Personally, you are:
- Experienced in working with European colleagues, ideally from one or more multinational organizations
- Strong in creating a productive and collaborative work environment around you
- Open to dialogue and appreciative of opinions different from your own
- Comfortable and happy to collaborate with both close and distant colleagues on all levels of the organization
- Interested in, and passionate, about growing your own technical skills
