Product Designer
Join us and be part of digitally transforming our Logistics business!
Are you a pragmatic and curious designer who thrives on improving complex systems through user-centered design with a solid grasp of disciplines ranging from research, analysis, ideation, facilitation, pixel-perfect design, prototyping and user testing? Do you enjoy simplifying workflows, reducing friction, and working closely with real users to create meaningful impact?
Join our ambitious but informal Design Chapter at DFDS, where we work across the full end-to-end user journey while being embedded in cross-functional product teams. You’ll be responsible product designer for one of our key legacy systems within Logistics – building intuitive tools for part-load transport planning across Europe.
About the role
DFDS is Northern Europe's largest integrated shipping and logistics company. We serve over 8,400 freight customers and six million passengers annually, operating terminals, ferries, and logistics solutions across 20+ countries.
You’ll be part of the logistics product team, working closely with a cross-functional team of developers, analysts, and business stakeholders.
You’ll also collaborate closely with our broader community of 13+ international Product and Service Designers (and one excellent UX Researcher) to ensure coherence across the design landscape at DFDS.
Your key responsibilities:
- Lead the user experience design for a mission-critical logistics planning tool for operational efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with the System/Business Analyst in your product team to inform needs for your product.
- Turn research and planner feedback into intuitive, efficient workflows and UI designs.
- Define and test MVP experiences that reduce manual work and empty miles.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, and design documentation in Figma.
- Plan and run usability tests, iterate based on insights, and support implementation.
- Analyse data, synthesise relevant insights and share with relevant stakeholders across DFDS.
- Work closely with developers, analysts, product owners and business stakeholders to ship quality features.
About you
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. With this in mind, we think that you as a person would be a great fit if you are a proactive self-starter, and a strong finisher, who can take the initiative and take responsibility for getting things done. You are analytical and can see the bigger picture but still have a great eye for detail and coherence. You are a team player who values collaboration and can give and receive constructive feedback on designs.
We imagine the ideal person for this position will have the following qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience designing internal tools or operational systems where you have been responsible for creating designs that support a great user experience that converts.
- A self-starter and can cover the end-to-end product design process.
- Strong product design (UX/UI) skills, especially in workflow thinking.
- Ability to lead discovery and usability work — from interviews to observation.
- Empathy for non-technical users and a passion for simplifying complex tasks with a portfolio that shows end-to-end design work on real-world products.
- Has a strong grasp on qualitative and quantitative methodologies and is data-driven and data literate.
- Is a strong communicator who knows how to provide sound rationales for design decisions to a variety of disparate stakeholders, and is fluent in English, both written and spoken as it is DFDS ´corporate language.
Experience working in a Scrum team, and/or within a bigger international organization, would make us happy. Experience with analytics tools and AIs would make us elated, but if you are tech-savvy and a quick learner, that is fine too.
About the team
You’ll be joining a cross-functional team on a mission to improve transport planning across Europe. The team focuses on learning quickly, testing early, and building solutions that are practical and easy to adopt. All team members bring energy, clarity, and a strong user focus - creating space to collaborate and build with purpose.

In DFDS you will be joining the Logistics Tribe in the Technology and Innovation (T&I) division, in our swanky new HQ in Copenhagen, and will be able to enjoy a great and social workplace, where individuals are afforded a fairly great extent of flexibility, because we believe in people. Here you will have access to both a lovely cantina, café, different work zones, game room, fitness facility, massage, sports club and a spectacular ocean view.
If you’re curious, pragmatic, and enjoy working closely with others to solve real-world challenges, we’d love to hear from you.
