Digital Workplace Specialist - Microsoft 365
Join our digital workplace community at DFDS to help shape a first-class employee experience through the core platforms that power collaboration across our business.
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set directions and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our Employee Experience team.
If you pride yourself on extensive knowledge and experience on collaboration and communication in Microsoft 365 and have a keen eye for what makes the life of our employees easier and better, this role is for you.
About the role
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
At DFDS, more than 7000 office-based employees create, collaborate and communicate with Microsoft 365 tools. In the Employee Experience team, we support, promote and develop the platform to help all our colleagues do their job. This means ensuring the best adoption, building the right portals and making sure that everyone knows the tips and tricks needed to have a great digital day at work.
As DFDS, as well as Microsoft 365, is constantly evolving and expanding, keeping a constant focus on relevant and mature features is key. It’s crucial to us that we actively promote best practices and guide our colleagues towards the right tools for their tasks at hand.
What kind of exciting challenges can you expect to meet in this role?
As Digital Workplace and Collaboration Specialist, you’re ready to own the role and carry the torch towards the business, spreading your knowledge, and helping define the boundaries of how we work at DFDS. It might be teaching the tricks to zen-like collaboration, guiding our intranet editors on the best configuration of a new hub site, or even helping them do the configuration.
Our Digital Workplace community is where people go to ask questions and get inspired to work in new ways - and driving that community is a top priority. Likewise, we’re working on training material and new ways of inspiring and engaging employees to be their best in modern collaboration. Knowing your core tools is key to being effective. It’s your guiding light to ensure employees know theirs.
The playing field is open, and there is plenty of exciting work to do. Beside the above, we also expect you to:
- Keep up to date on the latest roadmap additions and releases from Microsoft.
- Engage and review with external vendors on add-ons or additional systems needed to drive usage of the platform.
- Be prepared to assist on tasks in the team, falling short of your primary area of expertise.
The role is placed in our Technology and Innovation Division with more than 500 colleagues spread across Europe. You will become part of the Employee Experience Team and join 12 colleagues working with the core systems and platforms that support our employees across the business. Providing a 1st class digital employee experience at DFDS is our purpose.
About you
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. With this in mind, we imagine that you have a strong practical background and multiple years of experience from working with the core collaboration tools in Microsoft 365.
Your experience gives you a solid foundation, but you’re thirsty for more and are always looking for new features that will help us work smarter. You’re enthusiastic and eager to share your knowledge - and can think of only a few things better than making the life of your colleagues easier.
The ideal person for this position will have the following qualifications:
- Deep knowledge of the core collaboration features in Microsoft 365 (Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, Viva Engage, Loop Components, Office Apps)
- +5 years of working with IT
- Great communication skills
- Comfortable doing training sessions, both online and in person
- Strong English skills as English is our corporate language
- Preferably a degree in IT, but not a requirement.
