About the role
As part of our Data Centre Platform team, you’ll play a central role in shaping and maintaining the infrastructure platforms that support DFDS’ business-critical systems. This position blends technical depth with functional leadership, giving you the opportunity to guide a group of 4–5 engineers, help shape technical direction, and ensure smooth coordination between the team and the Data Centre Manager.

In this role, you’ll take ownership of the operation of our Onprem infrastructure platform services. Your work will ensure stability, performance, and continuous improvement across our virtualisation and Wintel environments.

Your main responsibilities will be:

• Daily lead and coordinate operational work for colleagues in Copenhagen, Türkiye and UK.

• To plan, prioritise, and coordinate tasks and initiatives keeping the platform running optimally.

• Acting as the technical lead and escalation point for key Data Centre Platform issues.

• Helping in providing 2nd- and 3rd-line support for DFDS’ virtualisation and Windows Server platforms.

About you
To succeed in this role we imagine you’re an experienced System Engineer or Administrator who thrives in complex infrastructure environments. You enjoy combining deep technical problem-solving with team coordination and platform ownership.

You likely bring experience in:

• Microsoft Windows Server administration

• Virtualisation platforms such as VMware or Hyper-V

• Physical server hardware and data-centre operations

• Backup solutions and enterprise storage systems

• Scripting, automation, and tooling using PowerShell or other scripting tools

You’re someone who thrives on orchestrating complex, multi‑site rollouts and major upgrades, ensuring every stage runs smoothly. You communicate with clarity and structure, keeping distributed teams aligned and informed no matter how many moving parts are involved.
