Global HR Business Partner - IT & Finance
Are you passionate about acting as a trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders? Do you bring strategic HR expertise, using data and insights to shape impactful people initiatives? And would you like to ensure strong alignment between business strategy and people priorities in a global shipping & logistics company?
About the role
Be part of the movement - and play your part
DFDS’ People Division (PD) is in an exciting period of transformation. Our fundamentals are solid with clear goals and great people, but we have the potential to improve. From January, we will implement a new structure to strengthen efficiency and employee experience. This includes separating HR Business Partnering from HR Service Delivery to sharpen the focus on providing targeted support to our leaders and standardising HR processes across countries.
As part of this transformation, we are looking for a Global HR Business Partner who will play a key role in bringing this new model to life - delivering HR partnering globally for two of our divisions, Finance and Technology & Innovation (T&I). You will act as trusted advisor to the CFO and CTO and their leaders with the purpose of ensuring strong alignment between business strategy and people priorities.
You will report to the CPO and be part of the People Leadership Team (PLT), playing a key role in strategic discussions that shape our people agenda and influence how we deliver on our ambitions. In the PLT, we are team players and take great pride in knowledge sharing and exchanging ideas to inspire and help each other.
You will also join the management teams in Finance and T&I, giving you a strong platform to build relations and influence decisions, ensuring consistent focus on people priorities.
Key responsibilities
You will be the strategic HR partner for our Finance and Technology & Innovation divisions, working closely with the CFO and CTO and their leadership teams. Your focus will be to translate business strategy into actionable people priorities and ensure alignment across the organisation.
You will lead global HR partnering for these divisions, driving adoption of annual people processes such as performance management, salary reviews, talent development, and engagement. Acting as a change agent, you will champion new ways of working and support leaders in navigating HR processes and compliance.
Beyond the operational rhythm, you will take ownership of strategic projects - such as organisational design, change initiatives, and M&A - scoping and leading efforts that have division-wide impact. You will also play a key role in shaping talent and capability strategies, ensuring succession planning, and identifying critical skills for the future.
Data and insights will be central to your work. You will review salary budgets, analyse HR metrics, and provide recommendations that enable informed decision-making. As a member of both divisional management teams, you will actively facilitate the people agenda, ensuring that leadership discussions consistently reflect our ambition to build strong, engaged teams.
The position is based at our HQ in Copenhagen, Denmark. Limited travel days are to be expected to on-site locations in Europe.
About you
We believe the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. With this in mind, we imagine that you bring:
Extensive experience (+8 years) in strategic HR partnering or HR leadership in an international organisation
Solid experience as a trusted sparring partner to executives challenging and supporting informed decisions
Deep understanding of talent strategy, organisational design, and capability building
Strategic mindset, connecting people strategies to business goals
Excellent communication and influencing skills, enabling engagement with diverse stakeholders
Analytical mindset, using data and analytics to shape recommendations
Strong project management skills and a structured mindset with the ability to prioritise and execute effectively
Experience in leading change and delivering value in dynamic environments
Strong business acumen with an understanding of financial principles and insight into technology and digital transformation
Full proficiency in English, spoken and written.
