Application Specialist, Sertica
Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you can set direction and help shape our company? If so, then you could be the newest addition to our Application Management Team
About the role
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
As our Application Specialist for Sertica, you will take ownership of the platform that supports our fleet operations. You’ll ensure it is stable, efficient, and continuously improving, while acting as the link between business needs and technical execution. Your work will directly support safe, reliable, and optimized operations across the organization.
Your responsibilities includes:
Planning, coordinating, and executing version upgrades, patches, and system enhancements in collaboration with internal teams and the Sertica vendor.
Providing second-line support for Sertica-related issues, including system health monitoring and vendor escalation when needed.
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, design solutions, and implement process improvements.
Evaluating and implementing new features and modules to improve business processes.
Acting as the bridge between business users and technical teams, ensuring system changes align with operational needs.
Maintaining strong collaboration with the Sertica vendor on escalations, product updates, and roadmap discussions.
About you
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all.
You don’t need to tick every box — what matters most is your mindset, your willingness to learn, and your ability to connect business needs with technical solutions.
With this in mind, we imagine you’re someone who understands how applications behave, how people use them, and how to bring those two together. You enjoy collaborating, solving operational challenges, and helping colleagues get the best out of the tools they rely on. You take pride in making processes run smoother and systems work smarter.
You’ll bring strengths such as:
A solid understanding of application architecture, configuration, and upgrade processes
Experience working with SQL databases and system integrations (API, XML, etc.)
Background with any fleet management system
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Clear communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts into business language
It’s an advantage if you also have:
Experience leading or contributing to system upgrades or improvement projects
Knowledge of ITIL principles and change management best practices
Prior experience in maritime, shipping, or fleet management environments
Familiarity with Sertica software (maintenance, procurement, HSEQ, or fleet management modules) — not required, but definitely a plus.
