About the role

As Chief Product Owner for Technology & Innovation Freight Commercial, you will be responsible for the tech solutions that support our customers sailing with us - for example, self‑service platforms, booking management platforms, pricing software, and more. You will lead seven teams (~55 FTEs) as well as three direct reports. Together, you will work to improve how our customers interact with DFDS digitally.
In our new 2030 digitalisation strategy, we have identified several areas with significant potential to enhance the digital customer journey. Delivering on these ambitions will be a key part of your role. You will have the opportunity to influence the division of responsibilities and the capabilities of our commercially focused tech teams across the UK, Türkiye, and Denmark to support and shape these plans. Your work will range from modernising and phasing out legacy systems to integrating third‑party systems across the organisation.
As a Chief Product Owner for T&I Freight Commercial, you will join the Ferry Tribe with around ~115 colleagues. You will report directly to the VP, Ferry Tribe Lead
When you join us, you will:
Drive the vision for the digitalisation of our Ferry Freight Commercial area
Lead and develop other Product Owners, ensuring alignment on strategy and roadmaps with key stakeholders across the Technology & Innovation Division and the Ferry Division
Oversee the successful launch and rollout of new functionality, and track the impact we create
Contribute to the leadership of the Ferry Tribe, working closely with Ferry Divisional leadership
Drive the modernisation of core systems in collaboration with tribe architects
Work with colleagues across the Ferry Division to standardise processes and enable scalable digital solutions
Manage and prioritise your team’s backlog
Set ambitious yet achievable objectives and KPIs for your team, and ensure their successful delivery
Monitor data to understand commercial realities and gather user insights to support data‑driven decision‑making

Significant experience as a digital Product Owner, with a proven track record of delivering digital solutions that drive efficiency

Proven ability to navigate complex environments with multiple stakeholders and parallel agendas across different countries
