Senior Director, Head of Rewards & Performance
Would you like to lead and further develop the Rewards & Performance area in a global shipping and logistics company? Join us to take ownership of a function on a strong journey, where you will further strengthen and develop our frameworks by driving standardisation, digitalisation, and alignment across a complex international organisation.
About the role
Be part of the movement - and play your part.
Over the past years, DFDS has grown significantly through acquisitions and today, we operate across Europe, as well as in North Africa and Türkiye. This adds complexity to our business and increases the need for strong capabilities to navigate different markets and conditions.
In this context, our People Division plays a key role in supporting the overall business strategy of making DFDS an even greater place to work. We are continuously working to strengthen efficiency, employee experience, and standardisation across countries, and you will play an important role in this journey.
We have taken important steps to strengthen our Rewards and Performance area, establishing key frameworks and processes across the organisation. While a solid foundation is in place, there is still opportunity to further develop and refine our approach.
This includes continuing the development of our career framework, strengthening alignment across performance and incentive structures and supporting upcoming regulatory requirements such as the EU Pay Transparency Directive.
You will play a key role in strengthening and maturing our rewards approach - from policies to governance and processes - while ensuring we fully leverage systems and data to support a more scalable and data-driven setup. You will set direction and execute priorities across our rewards processes and systems.
Thereby, you will take ownership of:
Supporting EMT and RemCo, including preparation of the Remuneration Report
Further development of DFDS Career Framework
Ownership of annual reward processes, incl.:
Global salary review in Workday (planning, communication, training, reporting and evaluation)
Annual bonus award and settlement
Long-term incentive award and settlement in J.P. Morgan Workplace Solutions
Development of rewards-related policies and processes
Ownership of performance management incl.
The annual performance cycle
Responsibility for processes, Workday enablement, and training of managers
To succeed in your role, you will work closely with Regional HR Service Delivery Heads, HR Business Partners as well as colleagues in Finance, Investor Relations and our IT Workday team. You will also engage with the Executive Management Team and Remuneration Committee (RemCo) at Board level.
You will report directly to the CPO. You will lead a team of two specialists and play an active role in the work yourself, combining leadership and strategic direction with hands-on involvement.
About you
You bring strong expertise in rewards processes and a genuine motivation to further develop and mature the area within a complex organisation. You are a hands-on leader who thrives on being close to the work and bringing structure to an area that is on a development journey.
Moreover, the ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
Min. 5 years of experience in total rewards, compensation or benefits
Experience from an international matrix organisation and navigating complexities across countries
Experience working closely with the Executive Management Team, supporting decision-making at executive level
A strategic mindset combined with strong business acumen, enabling you to understand the business context and effectively prioritise and execute
Project management skills with the ability to structure, plan and lead initiatives
Solid communications and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to build trusted relationships across the organisation
An analytical mindset, using data and business insights to support decision-making
Experience in driving change and delivering value in dynamic environments
Full proficiency in English, spoken and written.
We think the strongest teams are built on diversity and inclusivity. Contrasting opinions, varied skills and strong characters bring out the best in us all. And we cannot wait for you to join us.
